WASHINGTON — Andrew “A.J.” Janosko, the former director of trade show operations for the Society of Plastics Industry Inc., died on June 23 from injuries sustained in a fall while vacationing with his family in Seaside, Fla. He was 45.

Janosko played a key role in the logistics for moving the NPE trade show to Orlando, Fla., in 2012, after 40 years in Chicago.

Janosko grew up in Farrell, Pa., and graduated from George Mason University, where he helped lead the volleyball team to the NCAA Division I Final Four his junior year.

Washington-based SPI said in a statement: “While at SPI, A.J. led several NPE committees and had a tremendous impact on the overall success of our members, exhibitors and his co-workers. He was a friend to all and a stranger to no one. On many occasions A.J. went above and beyond to ensure the success of the shows he was so intimately involved with as well as the success of every exhibitor. Those of us who had the privilege of working with him are better for having had the experience.”
