Two cube molds from Foboha GmbH will be cranking out parts during K 2013, including a K show first: two stack-turning molds with an all-electric drive.
The all-electric mold, an F 270 cube mold, will make a two-part screw top for drink bottles or food supplements at Ferromatik Milacron’s exhibit (Hall 15, Stand C6). The press, with 270 metric tons of clamping force, will mold the top and bottom of a twist-top closure. The special feature is that eight bottom and eight top parts are injected for each parting surface. A handling system integrated in the mold removes the upper parts from the mold and screws them into the bottom parts, which remain in the mold cavity.
The product is a screw top that, when closed, can hold a flavored powder. As soon as the cap is opened, the powder trickles into the bottle and dissolves in the liquid below.
The second Foboha stack mold with an all-electric drive will run on a 320-tonne Allrounder 720 A. The 12+12 pilot mold will make a two-component cap for a juice pack/
